Retreat to the Cape!
Take time for yourself and your yoga practice this fall and treat yourself to an incredible week and autumn retreat on Cape Cod nestled in at the historic and beautiful Sea Meadow Inn; create space to return home to self, to nature, and to community this October 24th-30th. October and November on Cape Cod hold a special kind of charm and magic, with fewer crowds, crisp air, vibrant and colorful sunsets, and the final warm hues of autumn foliage.
Enjoy a peaceful and expansive week in Cape Cod and Brewster, Massachusetts filled with fall leaves, morning yoga and guided + silent insight meditation practices, time out in nature, and time to slow down, relax, explore, and restore.
Soak up and immerse in nourishing and dynamic yet sustainable Hatha Yoga practices interweaving the best and jewels of both Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. We’ll take time to slow down on the mat, explore, and also take time to workshop and break down asanas (or poses) together. We’ll also weave in restorative yoga, yin yoga, and a yoga Nidra session and practice for deeper relaxation. Practices will be appropriate and supportive for all levels from beginning students to experienced practitioners and teachers.
During the retreat week we will also get out and about to explore the area and charming towns around us and the natural beauty of Brewster and Cape Cod. We’ll include a whale watching boat tour, a sunset kayaking tour and adventure, a bike ride on the historic Rail Trail, and hiking in Nickerson State Park.
We’ll learn and adventure with a Cranberry Bog Stomping Tour with waders, visit the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, and explore a historic mill or two. We’ll head to a few beaches, get creative with an art workshop, and take time for reflection with a few journaling sessions during the retreat week.
Nourish with daily breakfast daily at the inn which is included with your lodging. Daily dinner plus two lunches are included within the retreat cost. We’ll dine in with two plant-based dinners savored at the inn prepared by the owners of the inn, and we’ll get out to enjoy dinner together at great local restaurants around the cape for our other four included dinners, and two lunches.
Each student will have their own e-bike rental for the retreat week, and transportation is also included to each of our included activities and adventures.
Upon arrival each student will refresh with a delicious and nutritious welcome drink and will receive a retreat gift as well. On site we’ll enjoy the inn’s beautiful grounds, gardens, fireplaces, and fall leaves. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom, and there is an additional 1/2 bath for all to use downstairs.
The Sea Meadow Inn, our home away from home during our retreat, was created as a place to slow down. Rooted in the history of Cape Cod and updated for maximum comfort, the inn offers a calm, welcoming environment where guests can rest, explore, and feel at ease — whether staying for a short visit or an extended getaway.
Retreat lodging will be booked individually by each student directly through the inn owner Adriana, and students can choose between a shared 2-twin bed room, a private queen or king bed room, or a shared queen or king bed room for partners, friends, or family joining together. Retreat Lodging
Sea Meadow Inn, Brewster, Ma, Cape Cod
Book your lodging for October 24th-30th, 2026: https://www.seameadowinn.com
Ideally located in Cape Cod, our inn is a cozy, welcoming oasis where the pace slows, mornings are unrushed, and guests are greeted with genuine warmth.
Sea Meadow Inn is a Cape Cod Bed & Breakfast offering a relaxed, intimate stay in a historic Sea Captain’s home (ca. 1780s). Conveniently located right on historic Rte 6A in Brewster, each of the 7 rooms is unique and named after one of Captain Isaiah Clark’s family members.
You’ll see signs of the deep history throughout the Inn – from the 5 fireplaces to original beams - while renovations have incorporated modern conveniences for maximum comfort during your stay, including central air conditioning and private bathrooms.
Set on almost 3 acres of heritage gardens that delight in all four seasons, the Inn features outside areas such as a fire pit, badminton court, hammock, tree swing and an herb and vegetable garden that inspires delicious breakfasts each morning.
Clark Family History
Brewster, Massachusetts is known as a Sea Captains’ town, because so many ships’ masters built beautiful homes along what is now Route 6A. Merchant Sea Captain Isaiah Clark was descended from Thomas Clark, one of the earliest settlers of the area. Thomas arrived in the new world in 1623 on board the Anne. He acquired large tracts of land in what is now Brewster and passed it on to his son, Andrew, and grandson, Thomas. Most of the earliest houses in this area had Clark families living in them.
A Home with over 200 years of history
The house is an original three-quarter Cape style. It is built mostly of cedar, with some oak, and is of post and beam construction. The ca. 1783 construction date comes from an inspection of the doors, hardware, method of framing and the cut of the rafters. Shingle-clad, it is distinguished from its predecessors by its higher posted form and granite-block foundation. The entry is headed by an elliptical louvered fan rather than the more typical rectangular transom. An extension was added ca. 1850-1870 and is studded construction, not post and beam, which dates the addition. There are five fireplaces and a beehive (baking) oven. During a renovation, an 1842 penny was found under the kitchen. A penny was often placed under a threshold to indicate the date of construction or alteration.
The sense of history is readily apparent. There are still many original features today, such as the wide plank pumpkin pine floors, exposed beams and 5 original fireplaces. One of the favorite features is where Captain Clark’s son, Jeremiah, scrawled his name on the original attic door; it is still visible today in the guest room named after him.
The available atlases show the house remaining in the Clark family at least until the early 1900’s. In the 1980’s the house was converted into the Inn - originally named the Isaiah Clark house - that has been enjoyed by guests from around the world ever since.
Sea Meadow Inn is more than a place to stay — it is our oasis, and one that we love sharing with our guests.
Adriana, your Innkeeper, takes pride in creating an environment where every guest feels comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for. Her ‘special sauce’ goes into every detail of your stay, from training the staff to arranging fresh bouquets from the garden and baking delicious pastries.
While you may not see them as often, Alex oversees ‘invisible amenities’ such as the dedicated fiber optic wifi available throughout the property, and our daughter Isabella’s keen aesthetic eye makes sure that every room of the Inn is tasteful, inviting and comfortable.
Mornings at Sea Meadow Inn are meant to be savored.
Breakfast is prepared with fresh, organic, local ingredients whenever possible, and menus are designed with care — balancing comforting favorites with interesting flavor combinations that make each morning something to look forward to.
We are happy to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions and take pride in making sure every guest can enjoy a delicious, satisfying breakfast.
The Sunroom
The luminous sunroom at the back of the house includes a spacious dining area, a coffee and tea station, and a sitting area as well as the brick fireplace and bread oven that are original to the house. French doors open onto the porch and backyard, while a divided ‘dutch door’ leads into the kitchen which was added to the original house in the early 1800’s.
THE BACKYARD
Enjoy your morning coffee or breakfast listening to the birds and watching butterflies from the porch, and end the day with a hot outdoor shower to remove beach sand before relaxing by the fire pit. With almost 3 acres of land, there is plenty of space in the tranquil gardens to take a nap on the hammock, soak up the sun on a lounge chair, enjoy traditional lawn games such as croquet, bocci or corn hole, or tap into your inner child on the tree swing.
The Game Room
On the 2nd-floor you’ll find a cozy game room with a wide array of board games, large family-sized couch, a ‘secret reading nook’, and a table and chairs for evening card games or rainy days.
The Sitting Room
Just inside the front door, the sitting room welcomes you to an intimate conversation or to curl up with a good book by the fireplace in one of the sumptuous blue armchairs.

Been hanging out on the yoga mat since 1991.
Born in Fort Payne, Alabama, Mary Susan Stults was raised in Cedar City, Utah. After moving to Colorado in 2001 to attend CU Boulder, she made Colorado her mountain home for about 20 years until she followed her heart to Hawaii.
In 2018, she traded the mountain life for island life and moved to Kauai, Hawaii where she lives with her fiance Brandon and their two cats, Tux and Sir Wobbles.
Mary Susan’s yoga and meditation practice and path began early in life with her mother as a child at home in 1991 and continued in the studio at the age of 14 in 1997 with the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Mary practiced Hatha, Ashtanga Yoga, and Iyengar Yoga throughout highschool and early college and in 2002 began practicing at Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor's studio, the Yoga Workshop in Boulder, Colorado. Years later, Mary had the blessing to find Master Teacher Maty Ezraty with whom she studied intensively, mentored with, and assisted until her recent passing in 2019. Over thousands of hours and many years of study and practice, Maty shaped and influenced Mary Susan’s practice, teaching, and life on and off the yoga mat.
Mary Susan teaches in the U.S and internationally and is an experienced Senior Yoga & Meditation teacher, educator, mentor, and practitioner. She is a certified and experienced Yoga & Meditation teacher, educator, and practitioner, a WPA/Paddle Into Fitness Certified Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and SUP Yoga teacher, certified Kids Yoga teacher, certified Adaptive Yoga teacher, and is known by all for her enthusiasm, heart, and positive outlook.
She teaches a knowledgeable, dynamic, and refreshing yoga practice that intelligently weaves together the traditions of Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She also enjoys teaching Yin, Restorative Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and Vipassana and Mindful Meditation. Many describe her energy as contagious, finding her nurturing, wise, grounded, & patient style of teaching to be welcoming &supportive. Her offerings are infused with her grounded yet light-hearted nature. When she is not teaching herself you can often find her in a training or Yoga intensive with one of her teachers or mentors.
Yoga
We will be practicing a dynamic, sustainable, syrong, and compassionate Hatha yoga practice and flow, marrying together the traditions of Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. We will also weave in workshopping, gentle and restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra relaxation.
We will slowly and mindfully weave our way through alignment-based practices each day, taking time to workshop asanas and come-see-come-look moments, allowing students to demo postures as we practice.
Expect a sustainable practice with longer holds occasionally, flowing, breakdowns of alignment and postures, and a focus on the breath. Classes are wonderful and appropriate for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners and teachers. We ask students to be curious and expect to take a deep and joyful dive into the practice and their own inner ecology and wilderness.
Styles:
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Vipassana & Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Yin Yoga, General Yoga, Yoga Nidra
Skill Level: appropriate for beginner, intermediate, and advanced
Meditation
We will enjoy guided meditation and will explore the style of Insight/Vipassana and mindful meditation.
Within this style, we will explore a variety of methods, including breath meditation, heart meditations, including a compassion meditation and a metta or living kindness meditation. We will talk about the basics of meditation, finding a comfortable seat, and the roots of mindfulness.
We will take time to explore seat options, mudras, our breath, and begin cultivating a greater sense of connection and intimacy with our own breath and mind, and we practice befriending the breath and befriending the mind on and off the yoga mat.
At the end of the day, yoga is life; it’s how we are living and how we are meeting ourselves on and off the yoga mat, and we can’t wait to share an incredible time together living well, immersed in practice, nature, and community.

Travel
Students can drive in to the retreat, or if flying, students can book flights to a variety of airports, depending upon what feels best to them, time, budget, and preference. I would personally fly into either Boston Airport (BOS) or Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) to keep the travel more economical and affordable. Closer airports will typically carry higher ticket fees and costs.
